FRIDAY NIGHT FLUTES CONCERT UPDATES
In an incredibly eventful 40th season, DCWS is thrilled to share that our flutist Amanda Blaikie welcomed her son to the world last month. Our original plans included having Amanda perform in person for the Friday Night Flutes Nightnotes, with an alternative option of having her perform virtually, if needed. However, this wonderful early surprise left us looking for a new option.
Instead, as Amanda adapts to her new role as a mom of two, we are welcoming the wonderful pianist Liz Ames to perform with flutist Hannah Hammel and percussionist Jay Ritchie. We are grateful to the artists for being able to pivot so quickly and create a new, dynamic program for flute, piano and marimba.
Another unexpected surprise: Construction begins on Old Woodward the week of the Nightnotes. As a result, street parking will be unavailable. Parking will still be available in the Hagopian parking lot, as well as the neighboring parking lots. Extra staff will be on site to direct traffic.
