Shuyu Lin is a versatile pianist and dedicated educator, known for her artistry as both a soloist and a collaborative musician. A graduate of the New England Conservatory, she completed a rigorous program focused on solo performance, collaborative piano, and duo repertoire. During her time at NEC, she studied with esteemed pianists Alexander Korsantia and Irma Vallecillo, developing a nuanced and expressive musical voice.

Throughout her career, Shuyu has collaborated with numerous distinguished musicians across a wide range of genres and styles. Her performance highlights include collaborations with acclaimed artists such as Yoonshin Song, concertmaster of the Houston Symphony; violist Dimitri Murrath; Detroit Symphony Orchestra violinist HaiXin Wu; Conrad Cornelison, principal bassoonist of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. and renowned pianist Dizhou Zhao. Her sensitive ensemble playing, deep musical understanding, and refined technique have made her a sought-after partner in both chamber music and vocal/instrumental collaborations.

In 2011, Shuyu relocated to Troy, Michigan, where she founded her own private piano studio. As a teacher, she is passionate about nurturing her students’ growth both musically and personally. Her studio is known for its supportive environment, high standards, and emphasis on musical expression and technical excellence. Many of her students have gone on to win competitions and pursue music at the collegiate level.
