Structurally Sound at Progressive Art Studio Collective (PASC)

September 29 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Structurally Sound travels to the Progressive Art Studio Collective (PASC), a studio and program dedicated to supporting artists with developmental disabilities and mental health differences. Calling on experiences from within her own family, DCWS horn virtuoso Johanna Yarbrough brings together a concert of storytelling in all forms, especially when the words themselves aren’t readily forthcoming. Yarbrough will be joined by Robyn Bollinger as narrator, Pauline Martin on piano, and Kristi Crago on horn.

PASC Detroit at LANTERN houses the first-ever permanent gallery dedicated to artists with disabilities in the city. They present 8–10 exhibitions year-round, featuring PASC artists and other artists with disabilities from around the world. The gallery is fully accessible and will serve as a hub for the disabled artist community in Detroit, with ongoing exhibitions and public programs throughout the year.

In addition to PASC and Signal Return, the LANTERN also includes neighboring artist studio spaces on the second floor, and is home to Collect Beer Bar, Coup D’état, Café Franco, and Assemble Sound. The entire space, connected by a 2,000-square-foot outdoor courtyard, is designed to be an accessible community hub.

PLEASE NOTE: There are multiple PASC locations throughout metro Detroit. The concert on September 29 will be held at PASC Detroit Gallery and Studio at LANTERN (9301 Kercheval Ave, STE 2, Detroit, MI 48214).
