DCWS is putting the “chamber” back in chamber music. Structurally Sound is a concert and lecture series that presents chamber music in architecturally significant spaces and works to relate the musical repertoire to the space’s unique qualities.

Our nationally-recognized Structurally Sound Series reaches new heights with a pair of stimulating programs set in two of Detroit’s most historically significant spaces. Five years after starring in the first-ever Structurally Sound performance, trombonist David Jackson returns with an inventive look at the connection between music and theater inspired by the history of The Players Club in To Be or Not to Be. Then, internationally renowned saxophone artist Timothy McAllister headlines Skyline Sax at a true Detroit landmark: the Guardian Building.
