Science & Sound

Residency Program for Grade 3

During this 3-session residency program, students learn about the physics of sound and music: vibrations, sound waves, media, frequency and amplitude. Three live musicians help to provide hands-on demonstrations of how sounds are produced. As a culminating activity, students use recycled/ repurposed materials to produce sounds that are performed alongside our trio in a charming rendition of Haydn’s Surprise Symphony. Science & Sound has been performed in districts throughout metro Detroit, including Dearborn, Pontiac and Southfield.

The Bremen Town Musicians

School Assembly for Pre-K through Grade 2

A narrator and small ensemble of instruments tell the story of The Bremen Town Musicians by the Brothers Grimm. Classical tunes are played alongside familiar children’s songs to tell the story of the donkey, dog, cat and rooster who set out on a journey to become musicians. Instruments in the ensemble represent each character with music that brings to life this classic fairy tale. Teachers are provided with pre- and post-assembly materials for students. Bremen Town Musicians has been performed in districts including Pontiac, Dearborn and Troy.
