A co-founder of DCWS, Good has served in the trumpet section of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra since 1979. He has taught at the Universities of Michigan and Missouri/Kansas City, as well as at Windsor and Wayne State Universities and is currently serving on the faculty of Grand Valley State University.
